James Cochran Obituary

James William "Billy" Cochran passed away in Frederick, MD, a few hours before midnight on New Year's Eve. Billy was born in Beckley, WV, on Dec. 6, 1944 to James Wedsel and Mary Ann Jenkins Cochran.

He received his Master's degree in school administration from New Mexico Highlands University where he was a record-setting point guard who was inducted into the Hall of Honor in 2002.

Billy began his career as a coach and high school principal in New Mexico. In 1972, he moved to Frederick, MD, where he worked with his brother in Cochran Bros. Construction. Later, Billy co-founded Accent General, a high-end home construction company.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, JoAnn Cochran Wilcox. In addition to numerous cousins, surviving him are his brother Roger (Jeanie Mason Cochran), wife Karen Gentry Cochran, his children Robyn Cochran-Moore (John Moore) and Shayne Cochran (Amanda Peterson), and his grandchildren Karly, Ryan, Kole, Brookelyn, and Alayna.

Billy requested a private family service rather than a funeral. A detailed obituary is available on Facebook.
